Ingredients & safety

Hand-crocheted yarn hat with a ruffled brim and thin yarn ties; the designs add small bead eyes, pom-pom cheeks and crocheted appliques. This is a dress-up and photo accessory for short, supervised wear: stay with your cat while it is on and take it off for sleep, solo play and time outdoors. Tie the chin ties loosely. Bead eyes, pom-poms and appliques can come loose, so check the hat before each use and remove it if your cat chews or paws at it. Handmade, so loose thread ends and glue marks can occur. Spot clean.

Thin braided yarn ties sit at each side of the hat. Size S suits a head of about 25 cm and size M a head of about 32 cm.

Pick your size

Choose S (head about 25 cm, 3 to 4.5 lb) or M (head about 32 cm, 5.5 to 13 lb) based on your cat.

Tie it loosely

Set the hat on the head and tie the yarn ties under the chin loosely, with room for two fingers. Keep the hat clear of the eyes and ears.

Snap and remove

Take a few photos with a treat ready, then take the hat off. Never leave it on when you leave the room.

Which size should I choose?

Use S for cats of about 3 to 4.5 lb and M for about 5.5 to 13 lb. If your cat is close to a limit, email us before you order.

My cat hates things on its head.

Some cats never accept a hat. Try a few seconds at a time with treats, keep the ties loose, and stop if your cat shakes its head, paws at it or freezes.

Can my cat wear it unsupervised?

No. It is a costume piece, so take it off before your cat sleeps, plays alone or goes outside.

Can my cat wear it all day?

No. It is made for supervised photo sessions only. Put it on for a few pictures, then take it off and put it away.
